For more than eight years I’ve been working for myself as a communications and marketing consultant through my business, Finesse Communications. I have a diverse mix of clients, from corporate to small business, but the property sector is where I feel most at home. Before going out on my own, my career was forged in senior communications roles working for some of Perth’s preeminent construction, project management, urban design and planning, and development companies.
But all that is about to change.
With the decision to study a Master in Food Culture, Communication and Marketing degree in 2019 in Italy, I am planning to dramatically shift my focus to the sustainable food industry. What my career / job / business will look like on my return from Italy in 2020, who can say? But I am taking a leap of faith that the universe will provide if I put my energy in the right direction.
Like the Australian Food Sovereignty Alliance whose purpose is “to cooperate to create an equitable, sustainable and resilient food system for all Australians”, I am interested in a multitude of issues within this space. I love the idea of being able to help small scale producers and farmers connect with more customers and sing the holistic virtues of a local, ecological, fair food system.
