Good Clean and Fair: promoting the sustainable food industry

To quote the Australian Food Sovereignty Alliance whose purpose is “to cooperate to create an equitable, sustainable and resilient food system for all Australians”, in my own small way, I also want to contribute to this important goal by leveraging my skills and experience in communications, PR, marketing and project management to promote and support organisations working in the sustainable food industry.

Slow Food committee and Terra Madre 2018

I am a committee member of WA’s only Slow Food convivium, Slow Food Swan Valley & Eastern Regions, and am working with them in a marketing capacity on a number of local projects including Snail of Approval and Chef’s Alliance.

In September 2018, I travelled to Turin, Italy as a journalist with the WA delegation led by Slow Food Swan Valley to attend Terra Madre Salone del Gusto, the world’s largest international cultural food festival and the Slow Food movement’s flagship event. Swan Valley hosted the only Australian stall set up to offer tastings and selling indigenous bush food to the million+ international visitors at this momentous event. I documented Terra Madre in detail through articlesphotography and video. 

It was an eye-opening, thought-provoking, mind-blowing food experience of a lifetime!
